How did you two meet?
We crossed paths many times in high school, and had many mutual friends, but never had time to sit down and get to know each other. A few years after high school, we reconnected thanks to social media. Our relationship took off fast and led Julia to a sudden move to New York from North Carolina. 3 years later we are a happily married baldie couple.
Was she bald when you two met? If not, what was it like watching her transition from hair to no hair?
She was not bald when we met, but had super short hair dyed a vibrant teal. A couple weeks after she moved to NYC and in with me she shaved her hair into a mohawk. I watched her do this and was blown away by her confidence. Several weeks later she buzzed it completely. She looked radiant and expressed overwhelming levels of confidence in herself and her natural beauty. It was like I was getting to know her truest self.
How does it feel being with a woman with no hair?
Being with someone like Julia has actually given me confidence in my own life and self expression. I’ve struggled most of my adult life with thinning hair and was stubbornly clinging to my increasingly wispy hair. It wasn’t until I witnessed her shave her head and rock the look steadily for months that I gained enough courage to finally shave my own hair off. I’ve been bald and happy since
What words of encouragement would you share with someone who feels she cannot attract a mate due to her baldness?
To any of the bald ladies out there, whether by choice or not, that don’t think they’ll be able to attract a partner, you will. Not having hair just weeds out all the shallow individuals that you wouldn’t want to waste your time on anyway.
My wife has always said it best, “It’s a bullshit filter.”
Many baldies have asked and we are here to show them, with your story that yes, you can find love, even with a bald head.
