How did you two meet?
Of all the places that we could of met, the sparks started to fly online! Christian Mingle to be exact. I lived in Texas and he lived in Delaware at the time.
Was she bald when you two met? If not, what was it like watching her transition from hair to no hair?
When we met, I had hair. I struggled with openly confessing my alopecia but I was tired of hiding. One day I took my wig off and decided to wear a head wrap. My now husband insisted on seeing what was underneath. After revealing the spot in my head, Mychal told me to cut it off! He said that before I’d ever shown him my hair, he envisioned me with a low cut. We’d been talking on FaceTime and we’re getting ready to finally meet in person. He kept expressing how he wanted to see the real me when he arrived to Houston. One day after revealing the spot I had a friend come over and chop my hair off. I’ll never forget the way that he looked at me. He just kept calling me beautiful.
How does it feel being with a woman with no hair?
“It doesn’t make a difference. I encouraged her to do it. When we met she had hair. I knew that her story would help to encourage other women. To be with a bald woman is a preference. She’d be beautiful with hair or without it.”
What words of encouragement would you share with someone who feels she cannot attract a mate due to her baldness?
“I would tell her that you don’t want a mate that doesn’t want you. Desire to be with someone that loves you in your truest state.”
Many baldies have asked and we are here to show them, with your story that yes, you can find love, even with a bald head.
